My Valentine

This Valentine's Day was going to be different from the rest. These past couple of Valentine's Days have been interesting... I spent them with the wrong people, or was with the wrong people during Valentine's Day because we didn't do anything for Valentine's Day....

ANYWAYS!!! I planned something very special for a very special person. On Valentine's Day, the new Captain America movie came out and this person LOVES Marvel, so I decided to plan a lunch and movie but first I had to prepare! First, I went to Dollar Tree to get favorite snacks for during the movie. Next is flowers! I go to my local grocery store and I see all the guys stressing about which big flower bouquet or how much money they were. I grabbed a 5 dollar rose with a few other flowers with a small greenery bundle and baby's breath bundle. Under 30 dollars, it doesn't matter how much it is but how much effort you put into it and it turned out amazing.

For my Valentine this year, this is a different kind of love. This person has always been around, but I never knew them fully until recently. I have learned to love every quirky, interesting, beautiful thing about this person. The thing is, I have always loved the things about this person, but it was the part about being okay to love all of them because she's kind of a weird person, but in a good way. Finally, the reveal to my Valentine! I set it up and had them turn around...

I turned around and IT WAS ME! I am my own Valentine this year, and it was one of my best Valentines yet! I have never gotten flowers from one of my partners in the past, so I had to treat myself to flowers. After I packed my snacks into my tote bag, I headed to Panera. As I said before, I'm trying to push past my comfort zone, so I'm going to eat in a restaurant ALONE! DUN DUN DUNNNN. I was super nervous waiting for my food; there were some older ladies there that kept looking at me and making me uncomfortable, but once I got my mac and cheese, I felt a lot better and focused on my food. After I had my fill of the yummy mac and cheese, it was off to the movie theater for the new Captain America movie, which I was very excited for. I have been to the movies alone before but not on a valentines day. I kept my head up high with excitement and confidences. I tried out a new theater type where there were screens on the side of the room too, super cool movie as well.

At the end of the day, I was very happy; it was a good and fun day with myself. I think a good lesson from this is that you need to learn to treat yourself well before you are with someone else. I know where my standards are because I can meet them, so that means someone else can; it's just about waiting for the right person who will love every curve and edge of me.
