The Call Beyond Home

I can almost hear my name in the wind—
Somewhere out there, it’s calling.
It tugs at my soul,
An adventure meant for me.
Destiny?
Fate?
That red string tied to my finger—
pulling me toward someone I’ve yet to meet?
My purpose in this wild world?
Whatever it is,
I can feel it at my fingertips.
With my bags in hand,
I’m ready to take that leap of faith.
But then—
A slight tug.
I look back. Their eyes are full of worry.
“Don’t go. We’ll miss you.”
I drop my bags,
Run into the safety of their arms.
But the wind screams my name now.
I give them one last tight squeeze and whisper,
“The world has been calling for a while.
I can’t keep ignoring it.”
So I take off running.
I grab my bags.
And I leap—
Letting the wind carry me
To where I’m meant to be.
